New to London Reels? We understand that starting reeling or coming to a new group can be a little daunting. Here are some of our top tips for your first session to help you feel as confident as possible before you arrive…

  1. Know where you are going! London Reels is held in St Columba’s Church on Pont Street, SW1X 0BD, between Knightsbridge and Sloane Square tube stations.

  2. Get comfortable! There is no dress code at London Reels, but we would recommend that you don’t wear constricting clothing. It get’s hot! Remember, if you wear Tartan Trews, a kilt, a skirt, or a dress, you get a discount.

  3. Have your payment method ready! Please get your payment method ready before you get to the payment desk. This speeds up the process and means we can get you reeling more quickly. Both cash and card are accepted.

  4. Don’t forget your stamp! If you walk away after paying without your hand stamped, we’ll have to chase you to come back at get one.

  5. Don’t be scared to ask people for a dance! Everyone was new to reeling once, and everyone is at London Reels to share in the love of reeling. If you don’t have a partner for a dance, feel free to ask anyone. If you’re new to reeling, you may want to ask a more experienced reeler to help you.

  6. Be polite and friendly! London Reels strives to be a fun and inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy themselves. Check out our etiquette guide for some tips on how to be a conscientious reeler.

  7. Enjoy yourself! The committee are always on hand to help, so please reach out to any of them to help solve any problems, or answer any questions, you might have.
